Moving Day

Moving day is here! Boxes are organized, cupboards are emptied, appliances are drained and packers have arrived. However, there is only one small problem……the couches, dishes, toys, beds, bedding, tools, curtains, bikes, skis are going alone. That’s right; as our belongings make the voyage across the Atlantic we are postponed in San Antonio. “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.”
I have heard horror stories of moving companies and although the stories may have been a bit exaggerated there is definitely a thread of truth in them. At 8:30 sharp six uniformed working bees descended on our house. I had to hand it to them: they worked fast! However, as I watched my shoes dumped onto brown packing paper and glimpsed my leather boots folding like an accordion I wished they could be a little more conscientious. But, ultimately does it matter?  Like George Strait sings, “I ain’t ever seen a hearse with a luggage rack.” So, maybe there will be a few things broken when we unpack but oh well!

The one in red was pretty cute!

Pierce spent the day at Damon's and Gretel got to 'help' us out.
